Offering 35 years of experience within the electrical and communications industry, Chris has been working with STAR Group since 2009. Chris consistently delivers projects that enhance STAR Group’s industry-leading reputation. Chris has successfully lead the delivery of service and maintenance packages to facilities such as Royal North Shore Hospital, which he was commended for efficient and quality solutions. Chris continues to uphold our quality and performance credentials in all endeavours. Chris has been a Director since 2016, and in 2019 Chris became the Managing Director.
With more than 15 years’ experience in the electrical and communications industry, Dave’s impressive technical expertise and hands-on experience allows him to understand the unique challenges of each project and come up with the best solution. Dave trains, manages and liaises with a broad range of personnel to ensure Star Group’s achieves optimal performance and project delivery.
Frank has more than 20 years’ experience in the electrical and communications construction industry. Frank provides Star Group with a high level of experience in construction design and delivery, and has managed projects in high-end residential, commercial, government and healthcare sectors, including both low and high-voltage electrical delivery. Frank manages Tier 1 construction clients and has made significant contributions to major Star Group projects, including Paramatta Justice Precinct, Macquarie University Private Hospital and UNSW Tyree Building.
Joining Star Group as an apprentice some 44 years ago, Geoff has an enduring commitment to upholding Star Group's impeccable record and reputation. Geoff is renowned for his experience, dedication, loyalty and strong ethics. Geoff has developed outstanding relationships with leading building contractors, developers and consultants within the industries Star Group services. These relationships have been forged over time and are founded on his dedication to delivering projects to the highest standard.
Jade began his electrical apprenticeship with Star Group, following in his father Geoff Coleman’s footsteps. Now with more than 20 years’ experience in the electrical and communications industry, Jade has excelled in Star Group roles including Project Manager, ACT Branch Manager and Associate Director – Regional Operations. In mid-2018, Jade was made a Director of Star Group and now oversees the management of all of Star Group’s regional branches.
Jeffrey has more than 13 years’ experience in the building services industry, where he has worked with prestige clients in both leadership and technical design roles. Jeffrey has excelled at effectively understanding client needs and has extensive experience in delivering efficient and practical solutions. Jeffrey is now head of Star Group’s estimating, design and engineering department.
A civil engineer by profession, Jim is the son of the Star Group's founder, the late John Andrews. Joining the business 35 years ago as a project engineer, Jim sustains and extends his father's strengths and vision by designing and implementing the growth strategies that have forged Star Group's leadership status today. Jim continues to look for new opportunities and talent to ensure the continued leadership and reputation of Star Group and its employees.
Jim has more than 27 years’ experience in the electrical and communications industry, including extensive experience in construction and communication projects. His expert understanding of electrical services and his ability to negotiate, mentor and manage, has allowed Jim to assist in enhancing Star Group’s reputation as an industry leader.
With more than 24 years’ experience in the electrical contracting, construction, telecommunications and security industries, John has made significant contributions to many of Star Group’s landmark projects. John’s expertise has allowed him to manage multi-million-dollar projects and budgets with a focus on strategically delivering cost containment, implementing efficient and effective commissioning, successful on-time completion and ensuring the achievement and integration of end-user requirements.
Mark provides Star Group with expertise in construction, health and communications projects that has been developed through more than 25 years’ experience in the electrical and communications industry. Mark’s ability to professionally manage, negotiate and coordinate with both clients and contractors, has played a significant role in enhancing Star Group’s reputation as an industry leader.
Michael began with Star Group as an electrical apprentice. Now with more than 20 years’ experience in the electrical and communications construction industry, Michael’s long-term strategic approach to business and hands-on experience has earned him a promotion to Associate Director. Through this industry experience, Michael has been able to effectively manage large, complex, multi-disciplinary design and construction teams to successfully execute several multi-million-dollar Star Group projects.
Phil has more than 38 years’ experience in the electrical construction industry, as well as 20 years of management experience. Phil provides Star Group with experience and expertise in delivering complex construction projects in rugged Australian applications, such as underground and surface coal and hard rock mines, water and wastewater plants, steelworks and manufacturing facilities, power stations and substations.
With more than 13 years’ experience in the electrical industry, Robert began with Star Group as an electrical apprentice in construction and fit-out works. In 2017, Robert was promoted to ACT Branch Manager, due to his strong focus on client satisfaction and determination to achieve continual improvement within Star Group’s service, construction and audio-visual departments. Through his professionalism and experience, Robert has seen steady growth in each department’s capabilities.
Ryan has held both project and office positions throughout his 10 years with Star Group. His widespread experience with contract negotiation, legal compliance, disputes and claims management, marketing, CSR, HSEQ and industrial relations practices has made him an asset in many of Star Group’s multi-million-dollar projects. Ryan has also enhanced Star Group’s reputation as an industry leader through his management of the operations team. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Business and has undertaken further studies in contractual law.
Formerly an apprentice of Star Group, Sandy is now responsible for control and management, industrial relations and training. Upon completion of his apprenticeship, Sandy gained further valuable and highly relevant experience with the NSW Department of Health, where he managed the rollout of IT technologies and data centre consolidation, before returning in 2005 as Operations Manager. Sandy was made a Director in 2016.
