Training and Development

At STAR Group, our workforce is the driving force behind our organisation and as such we invest in their careers and futures through training and development programs designed to specifically address trade skills, project management, electrical engineering, safety and leadership.

Through on-the-job experience and working closely with industry experts, our employees are able to gather well-rounded sets of skills and training that best equip them for any project or organisational challenge, while helping them achieve their ambitions.

The safety and wellbeing of all workplace participants is paramount to the success of our people and the organisation. As such, all our people regularly undertake safety systems of work training. This dedicated training aims to ensure all people are kept safe and prevent incidents from occurring in the workplace.

Graduates program

STAR Group offers a graduate engineer program, which immerses participants in world-class projects that expand their experience across a wide range of industries. Graduates are provided with structured on-the-job learning, guided training and mentoring, which includes spending time working directly as part of a project team and within STAR Group’s engineering and design department.

Over the course of the graduate program, the graduate will develop skills in:

  • General engineering
  • Alternative solutions
  • Coordination with services; and
  • Solving constructability and buildability issues

Graduates within the programme are equipped with lifelong skills that secure access to exciting career paths and opportunities, which are supported by strong principles of internal recruitment and progression.
