As a part of our commitment towards diversity and inclusion, we are excited to announce that Star Group has become a member of The National Association of Women in Construction (AU) (NAWIC).
This provides us with a unique opportunity to learn and grow in this space, as NAWIC offers a forum for its members to meet, share information, exchange ideas, and find solutions. NAWIC has a mission to drive positive change that will help to increase the recruitment, retention, and vocational development of women in all facets of the construction industry. As an industry, around 12% of the workforce is female, which drops to around 2% for on-site roles, so there is plenty of room for improvement. NAWIC achieves its mission by advocating and lobbying for change, educating individuals, companies, and industries, and connecting, celebrating, and supporting all women in construction.
