John brings a diverse and complementary background to Star Group, having joined from global investment manager AMP Capital where he spent 9 years in a variety of roles across Sydney and London. John maintains a focus on Star Group’s strategic direction, people & culture, execution, and key relationships in collaboration with broader management. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics & Finance) and Master of Commerce (Business Strategy) with Distinction from the University of New South Wales.

Jade Coleman

  • Group General Manager

Jade has been a Director of Star Group since 2018 and was appointed as the Group General Manager in 2020. Jade completed his electrical apprenticeship with Star Group, following in his father Geoff Coleman's footsteps. He has since held roles such as Project Manager and ACT Branch Manager, where he successfully grew the ACT Branch over ten years, delivering challenging regional projects while developing several key client relationships. This saw him advance into the role of Regional Director, further developing Star's regional capabilities, relationships and delivering successful projects. As Group General Manager, Jade is now responsible for developing the business on a broader scale, ensuring continued growth, strong client relationships and client satisfaction.

Jade Coleman

  • Group General Manager

Jade has been a Director of Star Group since 2018 and was appointed as the Group General Manager in 2020. Peter McCabe

  • Chief Financial Officer

Peter joined Star Group as Chief Financial Officer in December 2025, bringing almost two decades of senior financial leadership experience in the construction industry. Before joining Star Group, he spent 19 years with FDC as Head of Finance and Director, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation's financial functions, governance systems, and technology evolution. Peter brings deep sector expertise and a strong track record in financial strategy, operational governance, and organisational performance. His appointment demonstrates Star Group's commitment to disciplined financial stewardship, sustainable growth, and a culture-aligned leadership team.

Peter McCabe

Bryce Coleman

  • General Manager - Regional Operations

Bryce most recently held the position of Construction Manager, within our Construction Division at Star Group and has played a key part in managing several challenging major projects in Sydney. He has also had firsthand experience in delivering large regional projects successfully in his previous role as a Project Manager. His very noticeable leadership qualities and his ability to establish and build ongoing relationships with clients have led to Bryce’s appointment as the Manager of Regional Operations. In this new role, Bryce is responsible for the oversight of the operations of the ACT, Wollongong & Northern Region Branches as well as overseeing any major regional projects that the group may undertake. This is also a diverse role with Construction, Service and Business Development aspects to contend with.

  • General Manager - Construction

Frank has more than 23 years of experience in the electrical and communications construction industry. Frank provides Star Group with a high level of experience in construction design and delivery and has managed projects in high-end residential, commercial, government and healthcare sectors, including both low and high-voltage electrical delivery. Frank manages Tier 1 construction clients and has made significant contributions to major Star Group projects, including Paramatta Justice Precinct, Macquarie University Private Hospital, UNSW Tyree & MSEB Buildings, Chris O'Brien Lifehouse @ RPA Hospital and others.

With more than 40 years in the heavy industrial electrical installation industry, Phil’s experience has ranged from being an electrician to project management and management positions. Phil provides the Star Group Engineering & Infrastructure team with the experience and expertise to deliver complex projects that include water and wastewater treatment plants, manufacturing facilities including steel mills, underground and surface mining in hard rock and coal mines, and electricity generation and distribution.

Through her strong emphasis on providing the best level of service and support, Sue has built strong relationships within the industry, which have been valuable to Star Group and have allowed her to excel in her role as SE Distribution Manager.

Her career spans senior roles in ASX-listed organisations and consulting environments, where she has consistently positioned safety as a strategic business enabler—protecting people, performance, and brand reputation. Karen is known for her people-centric leadership and ability to influence at executive and board levels. She has delivered award-winning cultural programs and contributed to national safety legislation, including advisory work on Respirable Crystalline Silica. In her role at Star Group, Karen shapes strategic direction in health, safety, environment, and quality, strengthening safety culture, enhancing operational resilience, and ensuring the organisation consistently exceeds regulatory and industry standards.

As a National Account Manager, he has proven his aptitude for nurturing and strategically managing key accounts, fostering enduring partnerships that drive success and collaboration. Currently at Star, Matt leads, as the manager of the NSW Service division. Here, his true passion comes to life as he motivates and empowers individuals and teams. Matt's expertise extends beyond the technical aspects of the electrical industry with heavy experience in estimating and business financials. Matt is also committed to mentorship and development.

With more than 16 years of experience in the electrical industry, Shane began with Star Group as an apprentice. Through various roles over the years, he gained valuable experience and eventually progressed to become the group's estimating manager. Shane develops and manages Star Group’s estimating processes, systems and resources and continues to succeed in meeting our clients’ tendering and ECI requirements with a particular focus on value engineering.

Shane develops and manages Star Group’s estimating processes, systems and resources and continues to succeed in meeting our clients’ tendering and ECI requirements with a particular focus on value engineering.

  • Head of Design & Engineering

With over 15 years of experience in the electrical and engineering industry, Roy brings a strong blend of consulting and contracting expertise to his role as Head of Engineering & Design. A Chartered Electrical Engineer (MIEAust CPEng), he spent seven years in consulting before transitioning into senior delivery roles on the contractor side. Roy’s diverse background allows him to develop practical, technically robust solutions that balance innovation with real‑world constructability. He has worked across sectors including existing buildings, greenfield developments, fitouts, health, transport, education, retail, and mission‑critical environments, applying a holistic approach to complex engineering challenges. At Star Group, Roy leads the Engineering & Design function with a focus on technical excellence, collaboration, and high‑quality outcomes. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and a Bachelor of Arts (Languages).
