161 Sussex Street, Hyatt Regency Hotel Redevelopment project involved the construction of a new 3,667sqm convention centre and the refurbishment of the existing Nikko Hotel Site into a new 27-storey tower, which accomodates 13 new hotel levels and a 9 A-grade high rise commercial office space. This redevelopment has revitalised Sydney’s western fringe, connecting the CBD to Darling Harbour whilst restoring and revealing lost heritage.

Star group provided the electrical, communications and security services of the project, this involved services to the hotel upgrade and expansion, which has been designed to increase the quantum of hotel accommodation in Darling Harbour. This has been achieved by through the significant improvement of the convention facilities, functionality for front and back of house areas, public amenity around the site, and the provision of a direct, safe through-site link to Darling Harbour.
