The Auburn Hospital, located in the western suburbs of Sydney, comprises of two main wings with approximately 25,000 m2 of floor space and two central courtyards.
Staged demolition of existing structures and site preparation including excavation & decontamination saw the construction of a new 6 storey hospital building providing state of the art health care facilities. The redevelopment expanded the capacity to 184 beds and included 24 hour emergency service; combined high dependency/coronary care unit; combined general & geriatric medicine service and separate cardiology service; community health services; low complexity planned & emergency surgery with a focus on day & short stay surgery across a range of sub-specialties; aged care services; new birthing options such as a midwifery-led maternity service; dental service increase in endoscopy procedures, general surgery, and ambulatory services for satellite renal dialysis.
